Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I'd like to have an album designed by A Thousand
Words. What do I do first?
A. Email ginger@athousandwordsdesign.com to begin the
process. We can then discuss what type of album you would
like and any specific items you want to include. Prices for
desired options that are not included in the basic albums
will be provided at this time.
Q. What will I need to provide A Thousand Words in
order to get started?
A. Before work can begin on your digital photo album, we will
need a disk containing the image files (the larger the file size
the better), a signed release form, and a $50.00
non-refundable deposit (check, money order, or PayPal).
This deposit will be deducted from the final cost.
Q. How do I get the files on disk?
A. If they are professional photos, your photographer should be
able to provide you with a disk of your images. If they are
personal photos, email ginger@athousandwordsdesign.com
and we will walk you through the process.
Q. What if my photographer doesn't want to sign
the release form?
A. We will be happy to contact your photographer to explain
that the images will be used solely for the purpose of
creating a digital photo album and nothing else. If your
photographer still refuses to provide a release form, A
Thousand Words cannot use the images.
Q. Ok, I've got the disk, the release form, and the
deposit. What happens next?
A. Once A Thousand Words has received these items, we will
begin designing your album. We will email a "sneak preview"
of a few pages within a week to see if they fit the idea you
had in mind. At that point we can make changes and
adjustments according to your wishes and begin work on the
rest of the pages. Once the designs are complete and you've
given the OK, A Thousand Words will provide you with
the cost of your album, including any additional options you
requested as well as shipping costs. Upon receipt of this
amount, we will have your album printed and bound.
Q. How long does it take?
A. The time frame will vary based on your individual choices, the
number of images provided, the number of pages desired, and
the current workload of the printing company. We will give
you an estimated time frame when all options are decided. A
Thousand Words will keep you informed as work is finished
and if any problems arise.
